The Company

Sunbit builds financial technology for real life. Our AI-native platform helps more people get to “yes” at the moments that matter with personalized offers, transparent terms, and no added consumer fees. In stores, practices and service centers across the country, Sunbit provides a fast, fair pay-over-time option. For everything else, the Sunbit Credit Card delivers a modern, no-fee credit experience managed in a powerful mobile app.

We are guided by people-centered values: Serve Others Before Self, Include Always, Connect Genuinely, Innovate for Good. These values shape how we build, how we support customers and merchants, and how we work with each other.

What makes Sunbit different is an AI-native infrastructure that runs through the full customer and merchant journey. Our interconnected AI systems power instant decisioning, streamline fraud checks with human-in-the-loop safeguards, and enable highly personalized offers at scale. The result is a quick, fair, and simple experience for consumers and merchants.

We pair this technology with inclusion and transparency. Sunbit delivers industry-leading approval rates — 90%+ in auto service and 85%+ in dental — while maintaining zero consumer fee-based revenue. It is a better way to serve people and merchants, proven at scale.

Today, Sunbit is available across a nationwide, in-person merchant network of 30,000+ locations spanning auto service centers, dental and optical practices, veterinary clinics, and other specialty services. We help teams say “yes” more often and help customers move forward with confidence.

The Role:

At Sunbit, we are transforming how consumers pay for everyday purchases by building frictionless credit and cobranded card solutions at the point of sale.

Reporting directly to the Vice President, Strategy & Operations, the Director of Field Operations, Cobrand Card delivers high-impact growth across retail partner locations nationwide. In this role, you will hold end-to-end accountability for performance across field marketing channels-maximizing application volume, accelerating point-of-sale conversion rates, and ensuring long-term partner success.

You will operate with dual credibility: trusted by store teams as a results-focused leadership presence on the sales floor and trusted by corporate retail executives as a strategic partner who delivers tangible improvements in retail unit economics, associate productivity, and field execution.

Requirements

What you’ll do:

Team Leadership & People Management

  • Manage & Mentor Direct Reports: Lead, recruit, and mentor two direct reports (Account Managers), establishing clear KPIs, travel cadences, and execution goals. Build and lead a growing team.
  • Scale Field Operations: Build standardized playbooks, coaching toolkits, and reporting frameworks for your team to maximize their impact across assigned retail regions.
  • Performance Accountability: Drive operational efficiency across your team, ensuring balanced territory coverage, high-quality associate training sessions, and measurable store performance gains.
  • Corporate Store Ops Relationship Management: Manage direct, key relationships and serve as the primary operational contact between Sunbit’s Cobrand Card leadership and our retail partners’ Corporate Store Operations, Regional Directors, and Field Executives.
  • Operational Strategy & Process Optimization: Collaborate with the VP of Strategy & Operations, Cobrand Relationship Manager, and cross-functional team to design, launch, and refine customized cobrand card rollout playbooks, store-level incentives, and checkout integration.
  • Performance Analytics & Business Reviews: Track and analyze key field metrics (application volume, approval rates, associate active rates, and store-by-store conversion) to lead data-driven business reviews with retail leadership.

In-Store Execution & Field Enablement

  • Drive Application Volume: Own overall targets across assigned retail partners, proactively identifying underperforming districts or stores and deploying field interventions to accelerate performance.
  • Associate Training & Enablement: Create and deliver on-location and virtual training programs that empower store associates and managers to naturally offer cobranded credit cards at checkout.
  • Culture & Engagement Building: Establish energetic campaigns, store contests, and associate advocacy initiatives that embed cobrand card sign-ups into daily store operations.
  • Feedback Loop: Serve as the voice of the store associate back to Sunbit’s Strategy, Product, and Marketing teams to eliminate point-of-sale friction and continuously streamline checkout workflows.

What You'll Bring:

  • 10+ Years of Relevant Experience: Background in Retail Field Operations, Merchant Services, Store Leadership, Financial Services Field Sales, or Cobrand Card Program Management.
  • People Leadership: Proven track record of direct people management—coaching, developing, and leading field-based or regional team members to exceed performance goals.
  • Retail Operations Rigor: Deep familiarity with retail store environments, associate scheduling rhythms, checkout workflows, and retail KPI structures.
  • Financial Product Track Record: Proven success driving customer acquisition for co-branded credit cards, private-label credit cards (PLCC), point-of-sale financing, or related financial products in retail settings.
  • Executive Presence & Authenticity: Ability to present operational strategies and growth plans to VP/C-level client stakeholders while remaining engaging, relatable, and credible with hourly store associates.
  • Travel Flexibility: Willingness to travel 50–60% nationwide for store visits, co-traveling with direct reports, and strategic partner reviews.
  • Field Performance & Conversion Drive: A results-oriented mindset focused on driving tangible credit card application volume and point-of-sale conversion, prioritizing measurable outcomes over general training and facilitation.
  • Dual-Track Trust Building: The ability to pivot seamlessly from coaching associates on the retail floor to presenting operational growth strategy in corporate boardrooms.
  • Team Development & Operational Scale: Ability to build processes and playbooks that enable direct reports to operate independently and drive results.
  • Analytical Capability: Skill in leveraging store performance data to diagnose execution bottlenecks and deploy structured field action plans.
