The Role:

We’re looking for a proactive and seasoned leader to join our team as the Director of Loan Fraud Prevention. In this role, you will take charge of developing and executing the fraud prevention strategy for our Buy Now, Pay Later (BNPL) loan portfolio.

You’ll be the key driver behind ensuring the security of our loans, leveraging your expertise to create and implement solutions that will help protect our business and customers. You will own the fraud prevention strategy, manage our customer identification program, work closely with fraud prevention vendors, and benchmark our efforts against industry standards to continuously improve.

Requirements

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Fraud Prevention Program Ownership: Take charge of the development, implementation, and optimization of fraud prevention programs tailored to the BNPL loan portfolio
  • Process Improvement & Best Practices: Continuously improve fraud prevention processes, establish industry benchmarks, and implement best practices to reduce risk and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Strategy Adjustment & Optimization: Regularly assess and refine the fraud prevention strategy based on performance metrics, emerging trends, and industry standards.
  • Data-Driven Effectiveness Measurement: Measure the effectiveness of fraud prevention efforts through data analysis, ensuring that fraud mitigation strategies align with business goals and achieve measurable results.
  • Strategic Initiatives Leadership: Drive strategic initiatives to strengthen fraud defenses while supporting business growth and development, ensuring the organization stays ahead of evolving fraud risks.


What You Bring to the Table:

  • 7+ years of experience leading fraud prevention efforts at a fintech consumer lending company, ideally in a BNPL environment 
  • Deep knowledge of fraud prevention strategies and the latest solutions in the industry, with a proven ability to adapt and scale strategies for a fast-growing company.
  • Experience optimizing and integrating fraud prevention technologies to enhance efficiency and mitigate risk.
  • Proven experience collaborating with diverse teams, including Risk Management, Compliance, Product, Engineering, and Operations, to create and execute cohesive fraud prevention strategies.
  • Strong relationship-building skills, with a proven ability to influence senior leadership, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to prioritize and implement fraud prevention strategies.
